Paris Olympics 2024: Know your champions
The summer Olympics is set to begin on 26th July and a total of 117 athletes from the country will compete at the biggest possible stage and try to sketch their name in history.

The motto of the 2024 Paris Olympics is "Games Wide Open". The slogan represents the goal of delivering more responsible, inclusive, equal, and spectacular games. With ambition and hope to surpass the 2020 Olympics medal tally where India won 7 medals with 1 gold medal, a total of 117 athletes will compete for the glory, let's take a look at them.
1.Neeraj Chopra -Javelin Throw
The athlete will be leading the 28-member Indian athlete contingent as well as defending his gold medal this time around. India has high hopes from the athletes to add a medal to the tally.
2.Kishore Kumar Jena- Javelin Throw
Kishore Jena came to everyone's notice when he secured a silver medal at the Asian Games 2023 finishing behind Neeraj Chopra. Jenna's personal best throw is 87.54m which he achieved at the Asian Games in 2023. Going into the Olympics his season's best throw is 80.84m and he will be looking to improve on that when the time comes.

5.Lakshya Sen- Badminton
The Archer from Jharkhand will be looking to better her performance at the Olympics where she reached at quarter-final round at Tokyo 2020. She is searching for her 1st medal at the Olympics and will hope that the 4th time is the charm.
The bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics and the only Indian woman to win 2 medals at the Olympics will surely be looking to add a 3rd medal in her kitty and hoping it will come in Gold. Everyone is looking forward to her rivalry with Spanish star Carolina Marin.
The stocks for Lakshya Sen have been on the rise consistently ever since the Bronze medal at the World Championship in 2021 and won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2022. This will be his first Olympics and he will be looking to contribute to the medal tally. The upcoming shuttler currently ranks 19th in BWF rankings.

Silver at the Tokyo olympics in 2020 and followed by a Gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Glasgow in 49 kg category. Here she is again at the biggest stage to do one better than last time for the top podium finish.
It all began with the IBA World Boxing Championship Gold medal when people took notice of her. She backed it up with a Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and another gold medal at the IBA World Boxing Championship. We all hope she will get the prized medal at her Olympics debut.
Aditi Ashok the Bangalorean golfer is the 3rd time Olympian in 2024 and will be looking to secure a medal this time after narrowly missing the medal last time when she was just 2 shots behind the gold medalist. She is currently ranked 60 in world rankings.
Rohan Bopanna will be the oldest member at 44 years of the Indian contingent participating in this Olympics. The 2024 Australian Open winner came close to the medal in the 2016 Olympics when he finished 4th place alongside Sania Mirza in the mixed doubles category.
