The word hornet is a noun. A hornet is a flying, buzzing insect with a painful sting. Much larger than bees, hornets look very similar to yellow jackets wasps.
They build their papery nest in bushes and trees and like to live in a group similar to their other species.
A movie by the name of Green Hornet came in 2011 featuring Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz where the protagonist takes inspiration from a hornet to give character to his alter ego.
