Recently the Indian Supreme Court directed the Parliament to outlaw child betrothals as it threatens laws such as the POCSO Act as it is a clever ploy to duck punishment under the act. It also asked the Parliament to issue guidelines on sex education in schools and compensation schemes for girls.
